Boolean Searches Made Easy

Boolify is a tool that enables students to be able to visualize the search process by using puzzle pieces to put their search together. Boolify uses the Google Safe Search engine so results are appropriate for children and it teaches children to use proper Boolean searches. While aimed at primary and middle-school children, Boolify is a great tool for anyone who is not familiar with the ins and outs of Boolean searching.

“Librarians, teachers and parents have told us how hard it is for students to understand web searching. Boolify makes it easier to for students to understand their web search by illustrating the logic of their search, and by showing them how each change to their search instantly changes their results. It's simple, immediate and is easy and flexible to use with your class, no matter the subject matter. Searchresults are presented through Google's "Safe Search STRICT" technology, so we're confident that the results your students receive are safe.”

The History Teacher's Attic

5th grade-AP History and Geography teachers, this site is for you! The author of this blog desires to serve all types of social studies teachers by categorizing his resources by High Tech, Low Tech, and No Tech. I love it because you can click any of those three categories on the right hand side of the page and tap into a wealth of resources for any kind of history classroom. Browse the extensive resources for American History, but scroll down the page to find other types of history topics covered as well. Another great place to click is on the author's portfolio at the top of the page. There are some interesting blogs and websites there to investigate. Click the image on the left to check it out... and enjoy!
